Seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an inpatient surgical hospitalist team in Southern Maine, providing high-quality nighttime admissions and inpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.
Position Highlights:
- Full-time or part-time opportunity available
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Provide comprehensive history and physical examinations for new inpatient admissions
- Manage nighttime admissions workflow and ensure timely clinical evaluations
- Develop and implement initial care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Manage inpatient surgical patients during overnight shifts
- Coordinate care with hospitalists, surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
- Support care transitions and assist with discharge planning as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
- Collaborative hospital environment with strong specialty and physician support
- Structured onboarding and mentorship program available
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Active or eligible Maine state licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage admissions and acute inpatient care independently and collaboratively
- Prior experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or acute care preferred (including clinical rotations for new graduates)
