Position Highlights:
- Provide comprehensive vision and ocular examinations through a mobile vision program
- Diagnose and correct refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and amblyopia
- Prescribe eyeglasses, corrective lenses, and ocular medications
- Order and interpret testing for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other ocular disorders
- Evaluate patients for conditions such as hypertension and diabetes and coordinate referrals as appropriate
- Counsel patients on eye health and preventive care
- Co-manage ocular conditions within the scope of optometry and refer complex cases to specialists
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and treatment plans
- Train and support assistants in optometric duties
- Participate in staff meetings, training, workshops, and special projects
- Provide care across Gilroy and Fremont as part of the mobile vision program
- Travel between service locations and community sites as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school or college of optometry
- Current California optometry license and all required state credentials
- Board certified with TPA and TLG/TPG glaucoma certification
- 2 years of optometry experience preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- $80.29–$86.81 per hour
