Position Highlights:
- Part-time schedule: Thursdays and Fridays (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of ocular and visual system conditions
- Perform comprehensive eye exams, including assessment of visual acuity, coordination, and disease detection
- Manage conditions such as glaucoma, color blindness, and other ocular abnormalities
- Prescribe and manage corrective lenses, contact lenses, and vision aids
- Prescribe therapeutic medications where permitted by state law
- Collaborate closely with physicians and refer patients to ophthalmology or other specialists as needed
- Patient education on eye health, visual hygiene, and preventive care
- Team-based practice within a community health setting focused on access and quality care

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
- Active Massachusetts optometry license with therapeutic prescribing authority
- Current Massachusetts Controlled Substances registration
- Board certification in optometry (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred
- Public health or community health experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual skills a plus
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to community wellness
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly compensation ($58 – $69 per hour, based on experience and qualifications)
