Seeking two full-time BE/BC Neonatologists for a growing NICU unit in beautiful Reno, NV. Live and work in a beautiful city surrounded by many outdoor activities including Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains close by. This is an opportunity to develop a Level II into a Level III NICU with transport services. Starting in early 2026, we will have dedicated NNPs in house 24/7. We have an exclusive team of OBGYNs who support the service line. The goal is to develop services to retain patients in Northern Nevada and keep families close to home. You will have a flexible schedule with clinical duties for only half the month so that you can have an excellent work life balance.


Unit Type
: Level 2 transitioning to Level 3 within the next year

Current Unit Size: 12 beds with plans for expansion

Annual Deliveries: Approximately 1,400

Average Daily Census: 6.9

On-call Requirements: Combination of in-house during the day and on-call overnight (expected response time: 30 minutes)

  • Manage infants born at 32 weeks gestational age or later and weighing 1,500 grams or more
  • Oversee convalescing infants after intensive care
  • Care for infants with moderate illness expected to resolve without requiring higher-level care
  • Manage infants needing mechanical ventilation for less than 24 hours
  • Stabilize and transfer infants born less than 32 weeks gestational age and less than 1,500 grams
  • Care for infants with a gestational age of 34 6/7 weeks or younger
  • Provide care for low-birth-weight infants who are not ill but require more frequent feeding or extended nursing care
  • Deliver cardiopulmonary resuscitation and continuous cardiac monitoring as needed
  • Administer supplemental oxygen and intravenous fluids/antibiotics post-transition period
  • Manage scheduled gavage feedings
  • Treat infants exposed to perinatal substance abuse, including neonatal abstinence scoring and pharmacologic treatment
  • Address any additional circumstances identified by the physician or advanced practice nurse (APN) that warrant NICU level care

Compensation: Salary negotiable

Annual Admissions: Approximately 1,100
