Seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to lead a multi-hospital Hospital Medicine program in Northern Maine, advancing high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care across acute and community hospital settings.
Position Highlights & Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall clinical leadership for Hospital Medicine services across multiple facilities, maintaining an active clinical practice as appropriate.
- Oversee patient flow, length-of-stay management, and care transitions to optimize outcomes and efficiency.
- Lead recruitment, retention, and development of hospitalists and advanced practice providers while fostering engagement, collaboration, and physician wellness.
- Partner on performance management, peer review, succession planning, and operational decision-making.
- Drive system-wide quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Develop sustainable staffing and coverage models, support financial stewardship, and guide workforce planning.
- Champion data-informed decision-making and best practices across both tertiary and community hospital settings.
- Proven leadership experience in Hospital Medicine or a similar physician leadership role.
- Preferred: experience in community or rural hospital settings, multi-site leadership, and quality improvement initiatives.
