Seeking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Surgical Physician Assistant
to join Cardiac surgery program in Schenectady, NY. Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistants first assist and cover floor consults. This role is full-time with weeknight and weekend call rotation. The Hospital is one of only three programs in the Capital Region authorized by the New York State Department of Health to perform cardiac surgery.
- First assist with all open-heart cases, no vascular, some thoracic, adult only.
- Rotating shifts, 24/7 service coverage with night shifts and weekends.
- Responsibilities include daily rounds with CTS Team, caring for post-operative patients in the ICU and on the floor, admitting transfers from outside facilities and the emergency department, and consultations.
- Physician Assistant must be proficient in vein harvesting, chest tube placement, central line placement, and arterial line placement.
Requirements:
- NYS licensure
- DEA certification
- ACLS/BLS
- At least 1-3 years of Cardiac surgical first assisting experience
- Graduation from an accredited PA program, Board Certification
Compensation:
- Base Salary range: $169,800- $187,680
- 5k Starting Bonus
