Opportunities are available for an Acute Care Surgeon/Surgical Intensivist as well as an experienced surgeon interested in Trauma Program leadership
Acute Care Surgeon / Surgical Intensivist:
Join a well-established team of fellowship-trained Surgical Intensivists providing comprehensive trauma, emergency general surgery and critical care services. Candidates with Surgical Critical Care fellowship training and/or an interest in trauma and acute care surgery are encouraged to apply
Trauma Program Leadership Opportunity:
An experienced Acute Care or Trauma Surgeon is sought to help lead the continued growth of the Trauma Program. This physician leader will play a key role in advancing clinical excellence, mentoring surgeons and APPs, supporting quality initiatives and preparing for future Level II Trauma Center verification
Program & Practice Highlights:
- Full-time position with 12-hour shifts
- Join a team of 7 full-time Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Surgeons
- Busy Level III Trauma Center pursuing Level II Trauma Center verification in 2028
- Trauma program evaluated 2,600+ trauma patients and admitted 1,300+ patients in 2025
- Comprehensive trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care services
- 7 full-time Trauma APPs and 25+ Surgical and Critical Care APPs
- Collaborative multidisciplinary trauma and critical care teams
- Growing robotic emergency general surgery program
- Opportunity to develop an elective surgical practice based on individual interests

Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery
- Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
- Surgical Critical Care fellowship training preferred for the intensivist position
- Leadership candidates should possess demonstrated trauma or acute care surgery leadership experience
- 3+ years of experience preferred; outstanding early-career candidates will be considered
