Seeking an experienced Internal Medicine physician leader for a full-time academic Department Chair opportunity in eastern North Carolina. Lead the clinical, educational and research mission of an established medical-school department affiliated with a large academic medical center.
Position Highlights:
- Position available due to retirement.
- Lead a department spanning 10 divisions, 90 credentialed providers and 195 staff.
- At least 10 years of experience in academic health-care leadership, including supervision in academic medical settings and collaboration with senior medical-school and hospital leaders.
- Oversee departmental planning, policy, operations, patient-care quality and clinical programs.
- Guide medical-student education and curriculum, research programs, faculty recruitment and professional development.
- Manage departmental budgets, practice revenues, research resources and staffing while collaborating with health-system leaders.
